On the up at Upton park

So today's match had a bit of a feeling of deja vu about it. Occasionally sketchy moments in defence? Check. Someone in midfield having an off day? Check. Letting in a silly goal? Check. Fighting spirit? Check. Excellent comeback goals? Check. Olivier Giroud? Check.

So, like the Olympiakos game it wasn't always an assured victory but they did look stronger, a little smoother and a tiny bit more convincing this time. Also we once again managed to assure our lead and slam the door pretty late on. And today was a special day, today marked the end of a frustrating saga. Today Olivier Giroud scored his first Premier League goal. He could have had more than one today frankly. Once again he was very busy and had a lot of chances. But this time he finally made it count. You could see how much of a relief it was for him and how happy he was. Thank goodness that pressure is gone so that now hopefully many more can follow behind. But the goal of the day, undoubtedly has to go to Santi Cazorla. he scored an absolute peach today. Seriously if you haven't seen it, go find it. As if we needed any further proof of just how brilliant he is. Mikel Arteta once again had an immense game in midfield, he really is becoming a very commanding presence. And lovley Lukas Podolski had a great game today, he was brilliant at both ends. He had lots of brilliant movement, passing and awareness but also put in a excellent shift tracking back and helping out the team.
Plus we all got to sing "Andre Santos he drives how he wants" when he came on. Bliss.
