Fashion Files - Higher, faster stronger

The season continues apace and so too does the fashion fun and in honour of the beginning of the Winter Olympics, we proudly present a bigger, better and more fabulous fashion round up. So saddle up fashion fans and follow us on the trail of sartorial excellence.

First up Adam Rippon, impeccably turned out as always. What I love about these outfits (and Adam's costumes generally) is how well everything comes together. It all coheres very well and its a clear and definite look. Also I love the touch of self-reference in both outfits drawing from the same colour palette and how they draw inspiration from outfits he's had in previous seasons. The softness of the lines here perfectly compliments the fluidity of his skating.

Next up Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov. These outfits are fun, fabulous and so now. Very Great Gatsby. The attention to detail is brilliant here and I particularly like how they've spiced up Nikita's tux with the jewelled detail.

We move on to Luca Lanotte and Anna Cappellini. These outfits are just an old school dream. They complement each other perfectly, with the mirroring of the bow detail on her blouse and his bow tie a particularly nice touch. The floaty hemline on her skirt is just a dream too.

Now the master of disguise Mr Maxim Trankov. I'm sure we're all aware how much of a fan of Mr Trankov's work I am but he's been excelling himself of late. His yellow pants have become infamous but I'd like to focus on his other looks. The look that he and Tatiana have for their short program is nothing short of magnificent. Beautiful silhouette, fantastic detail and a strong impression of character; old school classic at its very best. Then there's Bond, James Bond. Its simple, masculine and very sexy.

Next Guillaume Cizeron and Gabrielle Papadakis. The first time I saw this routine it just blew me away, its has such flow and flair. And my goodness these outfits. For me this look immediately brought to mind Jean Paul Gaultier and I applaud them for going high fashion. Its an iconic style but still modern and  of course very French.

And finally, we finish with some bonus Sochi Olympic fashion brilliance. Team Spain we salute you. Oh Javi you wonderful boy, truly you are rocking that beret.
