The rivalry continues (x2)

Well, well, well. What a difference a week makes huh? Suddenly it all doesn't look so bad.
Firstly we had the FA Cup replay at the Emirates. A stonking result for the boys ensued. A 5-0 victory that was exactly what we needed after you-know-what. There were several causesfor optimism within this game. Firstly the capacity to bounce back so fast and produce a convincing victory. I know it was against a team two leagues below us but falling at this hurdle in the FA cup immediately after the weekend's debacle would have been not only embarassing but severely damaging to our season. Secondly, Maroune Chamakh finally located his shooting boots in the back of the cupboard where he left them. A very timely find indeed. We need our strikers on form with RvP once again darkening the door of the treatment room. Which brings me to another thing. Nicky Bendtner. Wow where did that come from? Wherever it was, keep going there. And in our (sort of) official role as Tomas Rosicky's one woman cheerleading squad, it gives us great pleasure to say that our little dumpling was an absolute superstar on Wednesday. Two outstanding assists for the goals and he pulled the strings in midfield until he unfortunately had to come off after getting an elbow to the head.  The win means we progress to face....Manchester United.
Which brings me very smoothly onto the Premier League. Manchester United lost to Chelsea last weekend. A golden chance. Well into the game against Sunderland, Andrei Arshavin is shoved over in the box. Penalty! Or not. The ref ignores it somehow. But what's this? Andrei Arshavin is once again bursting through the defence. GOAL! But wait the offside flag is up. But for what? No one was offside. Once again we witness the shocking amount of inconsistency and injustice at work in the English game. Not just a bitter Arsenal fan whining here, its getting so obvious its ridiculous. Rooney on James McArthur at Wigan? Come off it, literally any other player in the league would get a straight red. But there's light at the end of the tunnel. Manchester United lost again today. Bang. That's the sound of the door slamming open. It is so on.
