French Fashion Files - Nice 2012

Here we are again at the end of another brilliant season of figure skating competition. This time we had the added bonus of Worlds decamping to one of the fashion capitals of the world- France. Did the lovely boys and girls of figure skating step up their sartorial games for the bright lights of La Belle France? You bet they did, so follow me and let's see what delights were in store down at the rink.
France is so fashion savvy that Patrick Chan even got accessorizing assistance from the audience. "Patrick! Hats are so in this seaon!"
Then we have one of the home nation's very own boy wonders. Florent Amodio. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Monochrome, it is ALWAYS a good idea. And this outfit just oozes class. The white shirt and tie combo is a timeless classic and the loosened tie and undone shirt is a very good twist to put on it. It retains the class but boy does it have sex appeal. Top marks.
Here we have Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat. I like this look a lot, its a great combination between 'Dirty Dancing' and a sort of futuristic sixties type aesthetic (think 'Barbarella'.) Its cute, its quirky and its great to see Fabian dressed up.
Then we come to Tessa Virtue and Scotty Moir. I love the disco wear they've gone for here. The sequins not only call to mind a disco ball but under the spotlights they provide a similarly awesome function and catch the light brillliantly. And Scotty's shiny shirt? Groovy baby.

The former World and Olympic champions (along with Nathalie and Fabian) are here demonstrating a very valuable lesson to us all. The lesson? That there's no excuse for not looking amazing even when observing from the sidelines. Just look at those fashionable French people rocking the off duty smart casual look. Très Chic.
